1) What does your "Lifetime Warranty really mean?

All Guard Dog Security products are covered under the industry-leading Guard Dog Lifetime Warranty. This generous program allows you to buy our products with the confidence you deserve when buying a self defense/security product. In the event of any product defect, we encourage you to utilize our Lifetime Warranty so we may repair or replace your product with a fully functional one.

Stun Gun and Flashlight FAQ

1) What kind of battery does my flashlight/stun gun use?

Our rechargeable flashlights/stun guns are equipped with either a built-in or removable rechargeable lithium ion battery. Specific battery types vary by product.

2) Can I use other rechargeable battery in my flashlight/stun gun?

We do not recommend the use of any other battery type, other than what is provided to you or from a recommended source. You may purchase replacement batteries from Guard Dog Security. Inserting non-authorized batteries may void your Lifetime Warranty.

3) How long should I recharge my flashlight/stun gun for?

Charge time varies by product, but should range between 6-10 hours

4) Why isn’t the charging light turning green on my Diablo stun gun?

The LED charging indicator will turn ON/red and remain ON/red to indicate a successful charge, even after a successful charge is complete. Other models may vary by charging functions.

5) Will my flashlight/stun gun over charge?

Many Guard Dog Security products are equipped with an overcharge prevention mechanism, which prevents the product from malfunctioning for prolonged charging. However, to increase the life of your product, we recommend to only charge as needed.

6) How often should I recharge my flashlight/stun gun?

We recommend that your flashlight/stun gun be recharge about 1-3 times per month depending on product usage.

7) What is the difference between a stun guns and a tasers?

a. Stun guns require physical contact on the assailant, typically within arm’s length distance. Stun guns do not require registration. Guard Dog stun guns are designed to be practical for your everyday carry.

b. Taser™ is a brand of device that can be fired from long distances and are considered lethal in some cases. In most cases, you are required to have a CWL license to carry one and to register the product upon purchase. Generally, carrying a Taser™ everywhere you go may not be practical.

8) Why is there only one spark on my tactical stun gun?

Please note that due to the concealed nature of the stun gun probes, it is common that only one probe will fire at once. This is not a defect. To further test, please carefully place a sheet of paper connecting the two probes, or placed on top of the probes, and you will notice both will spark. This is intended to work on contact.

9) What is the best point of contact on an assailant?

Typically, common pressure points result in the greatest impact on an assailant. Common pressure points include the hip, torso, underarms, thighs and behind the knees.

10) Is it recommended to shock an assailant near a major organ?

Do not shock, or aim on or near any major organs.

11) Red light issue: When charging my stun gun, the red light never turns off/changes to green.

The situation you are facing is not related to a defective unit. There is a reported misprint on select batches of instructions. The red light simply indicates the unit is charging successfully, the light will remain on until unit is unplugged.

12) Best Points of contact?

It is recommended that you have your stun gun out and ready when walking in a potentially dangerous area such as a dark parking lot. Stun guns are contact devices and do not shoot anything out of them. The best points of contact are anywhere between the neck and hip area. The nerve centers at those points give the strongest result: however the stun gun will work when touched on any point of the body.

13) Will the stun penetrate clothing?

Whether or not the stun gun penetrates through clothing depends on the types of clothing and the amount of layering involved. For example, the stun will penetrate a standard t-shirt. However, it may not penetrate a military grade jacket. For the average consumer, it will likely suffice.

14) How often to recharge?

The unit is completely charged after 8-10 hours. The frequency of charging depends on which functions are most used in a product use cycle. Depending on your use, and functions used, we recommend charging about 1-3 times per month for the recommended charge time.

Pepper Sprays FAQ

1) What does OC mean?

OC is short for Oleoresin Capsicum, otherwise referred to as red pepper

4) How effective is the Guard Dog pepper sprays?

Guard Dog pepper sprays have been laboratory tested using the finest ingredients and high concentration of OC. The liquid in our pepper sprays is not only harmful to anassailant eyes, but is highly irritating to the human skin as well. Guard Dog sprays also contain UV dye for assailant identification.

5) What if I accidently spray myself?

If accidental contact is made, rinse the point of contact thoroughly with water, preferably with milk if available, as this will help to reduce the pain and duration.

Accessories FAQ

1) Slider switch has fallen of and has been misplaced/lost

This is normal, the sliding switch is made to detach. We will be happy to send out a few replacements, just in case you encounter this again. To prevent future issues, put a dab of superglue in the well of the cover before replacing.

2) What kind of batteries in Halo, 240L, Diablo II, and Solaire?

3) The battery on the website doesn’t match the one I have.

The image on the website is a stock battery. If you’d like to make sure you get the correct battery for your unit, make sure to leave a note with the model stun gun/tactical light or color battery in the notes section during the check out process.
